VCCS’ alums making their mark for the kingdom.

The Kings had an exciting day on Saturday, supporting one of their own, Deborah Orianegbena, a freshman forward for the UNC-Asheville Bulldogs, as they faced off against the Winthrop University Eagles. Though the Bulldogs fell to the Eagles with a score of 43-63, the experience was inspiring for all who attended. This special field trip, spearheaded by Middle School Girls' Basketball Coach Miss Marlene Jeter, aimed to give her team a vision of what is possible when hard work, discipline, and faith align. Members of the Middle School Boys' Basketball Team also joined the trip, adding to the excitement. VCCS Athletic Director, Coach Mel, along with several staff members, joined in to cheer for Victory's alum.

The day brought an additional surprise when the Kings ran into another alum, Alexandra Cameron, a junior at Winthrop University majoring in Sports Management and a member of the track team. Seeing these young women thrive in their respective fields reminds us of the scripture, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).

Even in a tough game, the Kings are winning at every turn, as they see their alums making their mark for the kingdom. It's always a joy to witness Victory's legacy of excellence and leadership in action!
