At VCCS, we endeavor to provide an atmosphere where our students can use their talents and God-given abilities in various sports and represent Christ on multiple platforms. Our students bring a high level of competitiveness to the SPAA Conference, as well as to sports in general and have held these standards for nearly two decades. We encourage them to be their best, both on and off the playing fields.
Although VCCS has averaged about 400 students for the last several years, size has never been an issue when it comes to accomplishment. Many of our graduates have been recruited in most sports, and numerous ones have received Division I and II athletic scholarships. The boys basketball team has won 16 regular season championships, 15 tournament championships, nine state championships and 7 national titles.
The Lady Kings have won 14 regular season championships, 14 tournament championships, seven state championships, four national titles and have been ranked first place in the Charlotte Observer’s Sweet 16 poll twice.
Our athletes have received football, basketball and track scholarships to play at numerous Division I and Division II colleges and universities around the nation, among others. In addition, our competitive athletic programs include volleyball, soccer, golf, track & field, softball and baseball. The Kings have won six volleyball conference and tournament championships, two state track and field titles and one softball conference championship.
VCCS graduates are continuing to excel in the NFL and in professional basketball.
